Related events: Friday March 20, 5:30pm Geshe Gelek will give a public talk on Zhangzhung and the history of Bon at the Tibetology department of Vienna university. There will be a Tummo weekend in Landshut, Germany, with Geshe Gelek April 3-5.

Tummo is not about generation of heat, it's a tantric technique with many benefits and a profound effect on one's energy and stability in meditation. The way Geshe Gelek and Lama Sangye teach tummo, it is very suitable as an auxiliary practice for Dzogchen. Bonpo Tummo comes with a beautiful preparatory sequence of vizualizations and breathing exercises before tummo proper. Geshe Gelek and Lama Sangye will also teach trulkhor sequences that should be practiced together with tummo.

Geshe Gelek Jinpa and Lama Sangye Monlam are two of the three tummo practitioners who were delegated by Triten Norbutse monastery to participate in Harvard professor Benson's tummo experiments in Normandy in 2001. The outcome was so impressive that it prompted a private sponsor to donate to the Bonpos the château which has become Shenten Dargye Ling.

Tummo in Graz is being organized in cooperation with Shenten Dargye Ling by Austrian students of Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche. Geshe Gelek will teach in English and Lama Sangye will teach in Tibetan and be translated into English by Dr. Peter Alan Roberts. Translation into other languages (German, French, ...) possible on request.
