Geshe Samten Tsukphu will teach Tibetan language on four weekends in May and June 2016. As one of the chief editors of Triten Norbutse monastery's scholarly publications, Geshe Samten is more than qualified to teach fine points of Tibetan language, grammar, and poetics even to native speakers. It is a rare pleasure to enjoy a Tibetan course from such a master.
Depending on the students' needs, there may be several classes, for instance, beginners in the morning, advanced students in the afternoon or vice versa.
Absolute beginners can expect to be able to read and write Tibetan letters, master the Wylie system of transliteration, and recognize and write seed syllables occurring in mantras as a result of the course. For advanced students there might be a course on Tibetan grammar, based, for instance, on the textbook depicted at the top of the page.
Subject to the availability of rooms, it will be possible to stay at Yeshe Sal Ling during the Tibetan weekends, or to combine the weekends with a longer personal retreat at Yeshe Sal Ling, under Geshe Samten's supervision.
